New safety gate design allows 90-degree side access

ESSEX, Mass. July 28, 1997 -- Mezzanine Safeti-Gates, Inc. introduces a 90-Degree safety gate model to the Roly Safeti-Gate product line. The new patented design configuration is ideal for new or existing material handling pallet drop areas requiring side access for loading and off-loading of palletized materials.

The 90-Degree unit creates a totally enclosed workstation, significantly reducing potential for accidents associated with mezzanine loading areas. Fingertip control gate operation increases productivity and reduces opportunity for worker injury.

The side gate is configured at a 90-degree angle from the ledge gate, and both operate simultaneously. Gate position provides right and/or left-side worker access, or entry from three or four sides. A cable and counter-balanced pulley system ensures that the lifting of one or more side gates automatically lowers the ledge gate, prohibiting worker access to the ledge. There is always a safety gate between the operator and the mezzanine ledge.

Options include units with different gate configurations, multiple width and depths, gate and side panels with fully enclosed solid or nylon mesh panels, toe boards, and special colors and finishes. Convenient remote operation is available by radio control or installing a control switch at ground-floor level.

Support members are rugged 14-gauge cold-rolled structural steel, designed to withstand the daily rigors of warehouse operations. Units may be built to suit customer specifications. All meet OSHA requirements. Installation is easy and requires no special tools or training. Assembly needs only two people and less than two hours. Delivery is four to six weeks after receipt of order.
